Install Plugin
To install Modern Admin, is not much different to installing any other (free) WordPress plugin, so you might be familiar with this process already. If not, please follow instructions below.
You can install by using WordPress uploader or using FTP
WordPress plugin uploader
- Log into your website
- From admin menu, hover to plugin then click "Add new"
- Click Upload
- Browse to the Modern Admin zip file.
- Click Install now and wait while plugin is uploaded to your server
FTP
You can also install Modern Admin via FTP
- Browse to the module's zip file (it is located in the folder you've downloaded from CodeCanyon) and extract that file, you will get folder named "modern-admin"
- Open your FTP program, FTP into your site and navigate to the wp-content/plugins/ directory
- Upload modern-admin folder to this directory
- Navigate to your Control Panel: Plugins
- Under Modern Admin, click Activate
Installing Updates
When module has a bug fixes or enhancements, you will be notified to upgrade.
Installing updates is just involves replacing the old module files with the new ones. It's always a good idea to backup everything before you upgrade, especially if you have made any changes to MegaSlider's files, as the upgrade will overwrite all files. Sliders that you created though WordPress admin will all remain intact.
Backing Up
- It is always a good idea to back up your module before making any changes
- Open your FTP program and FTP into your site and navigate to the wp-content/plugins/ directory.
- Download the modern-admin folder and save it as a backup
Upgrading
- Download the new version of the module from CodeCanyon
- Browse to the module's zip file (it is located in the folder you've downloaded from CodeCanyon) and extract that file, you will get folder named "modern-admin"
- Switch to your FTP program, FTP into your site and navigate to the wp-content/plugins/ directory.
- Transfer the new modern-admin folder into the wp-content/plugins/ directory on your server, overwrite the existing one.
- Ensure that your permissions are set properly on the plugins/modern-admin directory. If your server can't read the files, you might run into errors. This can happen depending on how your FTP account is set up.
Note: If you are running a local server, just copy and override the files.
1. Plugin settings
With Modern Admin plugin, you can choose 1 from 4 color schemes, change admin & login logo. To do this, navigate to Modern Admin -> Settings

You can reset all custom settings (including menu, dashboard custom icons) by pressing reset button
3. Change Dashboard icons
You can change menu icons for widget in dasboard page too, just go to Modern Admin -> Dashboard icons

Customization
You can create a custom styles for your admin by adding CSS code to assets/css/colors/custom.css file. Remember to choose "Custom" color at plugin settings page.
